We give back to our communities. We provide millions of dollars in grants to local non-profits, including matching employees’ gifts to groups they value. We sponsor national sports programs and local teams throughout the United States as well as festivals, arts events, educational programs and other activities.

We strive to be a generous corporate citizen. Through the U.S. Bancorp Foundation, we provide to support nonprofit organizations throughout our banking region. Our employees donate their time and expertise to thousands of local causes. We are committed to revitalizing our neighborhoods. Working with local communities and businesses, we offer a variety of lending, investment and service programs to improve the vitality of our communities. The federal Comptroller of the Currency rated us ‘outstanding’ for helping meet the credit needs of our communities as part of the Community Reinvestment Act.

We’re focused on volunteering, too. Whether it’s working with schools, small businesses or civic organizations, our employees are rolling up their sleeves. In support, we offer our full-time employee eight hours each year of paid time to volunteer. Working at local hospitals, helping out at their children’s schools and teaching seminars are just some of the thousands of causes we support.

Our Commitment to the Environment
Environmental sustainability is a company-wide priority. We have instituted a number of green initiatives. From making our branches and facilities more efficient to providing environmental education for employees and customers, we’re serious about helping our planet. We’ve committed to spending $1 billion by 2015 for environmentally beneficial businesses, including profitable renewable energy generation.
