OUR MISSION

PFAS chemicals, known as “forever chemicals,” are found in firefighting foam (AFFF) and are extremely toxic to the environment as well as our bodies. AFFF is widely used to fight hydrocarbon fuel fires in aircraft hangars and industrial facilities. When these foam fire suppression systems go off (often by accident, not in response to a fire), the AFFF runs into sewer systems, consequently polluting local drinking water. This is a much larger problem than the general public is aware of and affects tens of thousands of communities.

Many studies have linked these chemicals to family-destroying illnesses, causing birth defects and various types of cancers. Having a child with a birth defect or losing a loved one early to cancer is every family’s worst nightmare. We, at Safespill, are convinced that we can eliminate this problem by protecting military and commercial aircraft hangars with Safespill floors instead of AFFF systems. ​

Therfore, it is Safespill's mission to transition the world to clean fire protection.

THE COMPANY

The Safespill floor removes ignitable liquid spills before they can develop into a pool fire. Our applications include Safespill floors for aircraft hangars as an alternative to AFFF systems and storage units for up to 160 IBCs for combustible liquids in NFPA Class II and III. Safespill is close to a tipping point of market adoption of our system for aircraft hangars and IBC Storage Units (ISUs) and is expecting significant demand in the next 9-18 months.

Safespill is committed to supporting veterans in the community. We are Military Friendly and hold a HIRE Vets award from the U.S. Department of Labor. Working closely with the DoD as a military contractor is a large motivator for our veteran team members. In 2020, Safespill was awarded the 2020 gold HIRE Vets award and 2021 silver Military Friendly Employer award. In 2021, Safespill is set to be awarded the 2021 platinum HIRE Vets award and 2022 Military Friendly Employer award. Currently, our team consists of 25% of veterans from all branches of service. Our Veteran ERG is missioned to help support our veterans and their families and military programs outside of the company.
