Development Assistant / Coordinator | Iowa State University Foundation - Military Veterans

As development assistant or coordinator, you will provide administrative and operational support to a team of development professionals whose primary objective is to secure and steward private support for University Museums, University Library, and the Alumni Association.

Based on qualifications and experience, a selected candidate may hold one of these job titles: Development Assistant or Development Coordinator.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support fundraising development initiatives through project oversight, assistance with donor strategy planning and execution, and coordination of donor campus visits.

Provide day-to-day administrative support for several development professionals including travel planning, expense submissions, budget management, and calendar support.

Monitor priority data reports and assist with data entry in customer relationship management software.

Manage donor correspondence activities, assist with development and maintenance of gift acknowledgment process with key donors.

Assist with coordination and execution of donor visits on campus to enhance fundraising strategy and deepen relationships with foundation and university leaders. Work closely with campus staff to facilitate donor communication and other strategic fundraising activities.

Prepare, submit, and track appropriate gift documentation to support gift closure and donor stewardship.

Assist with creation of donor background materials to prepare for key fundraising visits.

Required Experience

3+ years of professional experience related to employment area. Education may be substituted for years of work experience.

Desired Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), professional judgment, organization planning, diplomacy, and professionalism.

Must be able to handle a number of activities simultaneously with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be adaptable, flexible, and self-directed.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and possess the ability to learn in-house computer systems. Experience or awareness of Salesforce or Ascend platform is a plus.

Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.

Experience interpreting financial data is preferred.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
