Our site in Franklin, MA is seeking a R&D Materials Scientist to join our team. This individual will carry out research and development of new adsorption/ separation/ removal technologies and materials providing filtration/separation solutions for the capture and removal of low-concentration gas-phase chemical contaminants in technology-driven industries.

What You'll Do:


  • Develop filtration/ separation/catalytic-driven solutions based on knowledge of membranes, polymers, gas-solid mass transfer, single and multi-component adsorption and/or kinetics. Conduct a variety of complex and independent scientific investigations to support conclusions. Ability to design and make experimental fixtures and specialized equipment as needed.

  • Design of and execution of experiments with critical analysis of results.

  • Literature and patent research for development ideas.

  • Analyze data, prepare progress reports, and present results.

  • Lead product/ process development efforts for new media.

  • Be an internal consultant to other parts of the organization in the area of expertise.


What We Seek:

  • M.S. degree in materials science & engineering, chemical or environmental engineering or a related discipline with preferred relevant experience of 5+ years, or equivalent combination of degree and experience

  • Experience with and/or knowledge of materials, polymers, adsorption, molecular separations, etc.

  • Proven track record of research and identifying solutions for targeted product development.

  • Ability to evaluate materials and their performance with experimental techniques.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding communication and documentation skills in oral and written English and desire to be an important contributor to a cross-functional development team.


  • Ability to aggressively set goals and achieve results. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset with a passion for innovation, invention, and excellence.

  • Experience in semiconductor industry applications is desired, but not required.
