Researcher 1 - Integrative Biology and Physiology - Military Veterans

83% Perform experiments in the laboratory to conduct chronic stress experiments, mouse behavioral and metabolic phenotyping, injection of drugs, etc. An essential part of this job is to perform experiments part of an ongoing NIA project focused on the impact of social factors on health and aging. However involvement in other experiments is also required, as needed including execution or support for histological and molecular analysis of senescence as required by the experiments.

12%: Support the work of the Physiology Core, in particular to conduct behavioral and metabolic characterization of mouse models under the supervision of Dr Razzoli and Dr Ariza.

5%: Communal laboratory functions: your responsibility will be to support laboratory staff to animal handling, solution preparation, mouse genotyping, and other routine laboratory practices. Analyze data. Attend weekly lab meetings.

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years. Previous experience with in vivo biomedical studies using mouse models is essential. Expertise with animal care and handling including but not limited to individual identification, blood collection, injections etc. is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise with in vivo phenotyping (behavioral, physiological), and data analysis.
Expertise in behavioral neuroscience, social stress and social behavior.
