Job Summary
The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment Extension office is looking for a part-time student worker starting Jan 6, 2025. This position is in the Forestry, Wildlife and Environment Building Extension Office. The student worker will work with the Media Production Specialist, Extension Coordinator, and Extension Specialists to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
This year-round, part-time opportunity offers a flexible schedule of up to 20 hours per week. Managing multiple projects and responsibilities independently and on deadline is required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate maturity, professionalism, self-discipline, dependability, punctuality, and a positive, upbeat customer service-oriented attitude and attention to detail in their work and interactions with faculty and staff.
Essential Functions
Perform data entry
- Transcribing of videos for ADA compliance
- Keep inventory stocked with supplies
- Print and prepare name tags, manuals, and professional letters
- Make campus deliveries and run local errands using University vehicles as needed
- Answer telephones, emails, and keep detailed messages
- Complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
- Photography of burn plots for historical data
- Keep a clean office space
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current Auburn University student in good standing
- Current Driver's License
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Computer skills include Excel, Word, and Adobe CC Creative Suite (Not required, but a willingness to learn.)
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Very effective organizational skills
- Self-starter and ability to work with limited supervision
- Experience using office equipment (copy machine, scanner, fax machine, etc.)
- Must be able to lift 20lbs

Welcome to Auburn University!
Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.
Today, Auburn is one of the few universities to carry the torch as a land, sea and space grant university. Our fall 2014 semester enrollment was 25,912. Our students can choose from more than 140 degree options in 13 schools and colleges at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
