Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary As a member of schools marketing and communications team, the communications specialist develops marketing materials and communications for McKelveys Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiative; McKelveys Women & Engineering Center; and McKelveys research centers. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Develops marketing and communications strategies and plans for McKelveys EDI initiative, Women & Engineering Center, and multiple research centers. Manages projects that include curating content; developing digital newsletters and mass emails; maintaining websites and social media channels; developing presentations; assisting with video productions; scheduling photo shoots; and coordinating development of print materials. Acts as a liaison between McKelveys marketing and communications team and leaders of McKelveys EDI initiative, Women & Engineering Center, and multiple research centers. As brand manager? for these clients, provides marketing and communications counsel to the clients and guides impact evaluation of marketing and communications efforts. Ensures marketing materials and communications meet the needs of McKelveys EDI initiative, Women & Engineering Center, and research centers while maintaining consistent messages and adherence to university and McKelvey brand standards. Works closely with McKelvey marketing and communications team members to execute on tactics as defined in marketing and communications plans. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies and plans. Experience working in higher education. Proven ability to foster productive working relationships with diverse constituencies. Ability to work independently and take initiative to move along projects, including under pressure and with tight deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (including writing and editing). Team oriented, collaborative. Ability to analyze and interpret data and information and make appropriate recommendations based on findings. Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in marketing and communication principles and practices including in branding, social media, marketing analytics, CMS software (including WordPress). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint). Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, English, or related field. Three years of progressive responsibility in related area. Grade G11 Salary Range $52,000.00 - $88,800.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
