Lecturer in Natural Sciences: Chemistry Summer 2024 | University of California, Merced - Military Veterans

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in Summer 2024:

Biochemistry I General Chemistry I General Chemistry II Organic Chemistry Laboratory Organic Synthesis and Mechanism Preparatory Chemistry Principles of Organic Chemistry Lab Principles of Organic Chemistry Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Advanced degree in Chemistry or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required. A reasonable estimate for an initial appointment is $66,259. See Unit 18 Lecturer table (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2023-24/july-2023-acad-salary-scales/t15.pdf) for the salary range for this position. These are academic year appointments and subject to the normal processes of academic review. Salary is prorated in accordance instructional workload calculation.
