Heavy Equipment Operator - Primoris Water & Mechanical - Military Veterans

Primoris Water & Mechanical is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team for a yearlong project in Gainesville, Florida. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently to complete assigned tasks on our project. The focus is underground excavation and shoring installation. This includes operating equipment such as large excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders. The operator will work closely with the project team to ensure project goals are met and safety standards are adhered to. Job Description:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment such as a backhoe, skid steer, excavator, dozer, and other miscellaneous equipment. The primary need is excavation and driving shoring beam and plate. Must have thorough knowledge of the operation, safety, and maintenance of the equipment being operated. Must possess the ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and underground utilities and aboveground interferences, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, and property. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and reporting any violations to field supervision immediately.

• Ability to mobilize equipment being operated, including loading, unloading, securing, set up and tear down.
• Ensure that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for correct purpose and are maintained.
• Serves as backup to other positions at the direction of management; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Strong knowledge of construction and excavation techniques
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items
• Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, sand, concrete, asphalt, mud, loose gravel, etc.)
• Must be reliable and have consistent attendance
