The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance operations using precision and preventative maintenance to maximize plant and production equipment uptime. In this role, you will be a servant leader impacting the development of craftsmen by providing coaching to ensure adherence to preferred maintenance practices to maximize efficiency and safety.

This position is located at the Winston-Salem Corrugated Container Plant.

How you will impact WestRock


  • Assist and provide direction to craftsmen with equipment troubleshooting to mitigate downtime.

  • Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget.

  • Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices.

  • Oversee craftsmen's compliance with corporate, division, plant safety and environmental rules and procedures.

  • Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the plant.

  • Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals by effectively leading craftsmen to align on objectives.

  • Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities.

  • Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees.

  • Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics.


What you need to succeed:

  • 2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline or related work experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors, gear boxes)

  • Safety mindset with thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures

  • Initiative to problem solve and take independent action

  • Great communication with the ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization

  • Able to exhibit a 'can-do' approach and inspire others to excel

  • Must be organized with great time management to manage multiple priorities.
