DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is actively seeking an Aviation Project Manager to join our Tampa staff and oversee project performance for aviation projects in the State of Florida.

  • Serve as Engineer of Record on various airport projects, responsible for completing quality plans, specifications, estimates, and reports with little to no guidance
  • Manage staff in 1-3 offices to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality
  • Serve as Project Manager, responsible for project profit and loss
  • Interface with airport clients for projects and pursuits
  • Mentor staff on design and construction tasks, providing technical guidance
  • Provide review for quantities and construction cost estimates
  • Prepare and interpret technical reports and test results
  • Communicate with clients regarding project issues
  • Maintain technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, conferences, attending in house systems/management training.
  • Supervise, mentor and monitor annual goals for 1-4 direct reports.
  • Assist with project pursuits and proposal development

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8 - 16 years of civil engineering design experience with a concentration in airport airside and landside design. A Master's degree can be substituted for 1-2 years of experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Broad knowledge of aviation planning, programming, design, and construction.
  • Overall knowledge of the aviation industry preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with the AIP and the grant programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA Airports policies and procedures, including FAA Advisory Circulars preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial site and roadway design and construction.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and knowledge of Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of drainage engineering software, drainage design, and drainage permitting
  • Pavement design experience.
  • Water and wastewater utility design a plus.
  • Knowledge of various civil design standards and guidelines.
  • People management and leadership skills. Ability to manage and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and effective decision making, organization, and editing skills.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $89,067 - $204,096. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate

ENGINEERING, PLANNING AND CONSULTING

 

The Engineering, Planning and Consulting business unit encompasses the complete life-cycle of planning, environmental assessment, engineering design, construction management, and facilities maintenance for projects in more than 38 countries on five continents. We provide a full continuum of solutions for a broad range of markets, including highways, bridges, airports, rail and mass transit systems, domestic and overseas government and commercial facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, energy infrastructure and urban planning and development.

 

Professional Services – As part of Engineering, Planning and Consulting, this business unit provides high-value, differentiated engineering and professional services around the globe, including specialized construction services, cost management support and engineering support.
