Job Description

Transition of Operations (ToO) Process Preparations and Project Management, in the Naval Reactors Facility Engineering Department, is seeking an Advanced Engineer to be a Project Engineer.

The primary focus for this position is to prepare the organization to be ready to execute NRF long-range operational transitions to start spent fuel handling in new production facilities at NRF.

This is a multi-disciplined group that works to develop project plans including scheduling, budgets, and risk management. This person will work directly with unit level managers across the NNL and engineers to develop and document product line startup project plans. This individual will coordinate and lead teams to progress project schedules.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience or; MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience or; Currently or previously NPE qualified or CTE/ACRS and one year of EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and one year as SRE

The selected individual should have experience in the following areas:

  • Leading development, tracking, and reporting on project/program activities and is responsible for schedule performance.
  • Coordinating and facilitating work on organizational activities that relate to their assigned product line startup project.
  • Providing succinct summaries, both oral and written, of work and work issues to various levels of management.
