Assistant Vice President - Undergraduate Enrollment Description General Statement of Duties : The Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment is responsible for providing oversight to traditional undergraduate recruitment and admissions (freshmen & transfer) for the Webster Groves main campus. This position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and leads the development of recruitment initiatives to increase yield of the incoming class. This position works collaboratively with vendors, enrollment marketing & communications and global marketing & communications to enhance recruitment marketing efforts. This position provides oversight for the Welcome Center and leads undergraduate events including preview days, Gorlock Days and GROW. Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Responsible for leading, supervising and mentoring full-time and part-time staff including all hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, professional development and training. Oversees admissions operations and recruitment. Oversees the admission process including the recruitment, evaluation, selection and matriculation of new undergraduate students to the Webster Groves campus. Cultivates and maintains relationships with high schools, guidance and community college counselors and alumni to assist in accomplishing undergraduate enrollment objectives. This includes coordinating and providing oversight to all recruitment activities including visits to high schools, fairs, community colleges and off campus events as they relate to traditional freshmen and transfer recruitment. Represents the university at admission-sponsored events on and off campus and develops and manages all recruitment and yield activities. Coordinates and provides oversight for the University Welcome Center and undergraduate recruitment events on campus. Builds and implements an annual recruitment plan for freshmen and transfer recruitment, including coordinating with colleges, schools, and departments on recruitment activities. Develops strategic, data-driven new student admissions and enrollment strategies and goals with senior leadership, establishing target enrollment goals for recruiter territories that are aligned with the university enrollment management plan. Assists enrollment leadership in developing policies for institutional scholarships and grants and associated leveraging strategies. Collaborates with outside vendors, Enrollment Marketing & Communication and Global Marketing & Communication to build undergraduate marketing and communication strategies for local, statewide, and out of state recruitment. Collaborates with Enrollment Marketing & Communication and Enrollment Technology to develop a comprehensive communication plan for undergraduate recruitment that includes assisting with designing and evaluating print, digital, social media, and other forms of media. Coordinates application generation, search campaigns and other activities with vendors as it relates to communicating with potential incoming students. Coordinates university partnership of staff and alumni for national and local college recruitment fairs and events. Conducts research and benchmarks specific topics and provides reports and recommendations to leadership to enhance undergraduate recruitment efforts. Develop and administer undergraduate recruitment budgets, including forecasting, cash operations, planning and monitoring or revenue and expenditures. Location: Webster Groves Campus-WEBG Minimum Qualifications 9 years of experience with 6 years of progressively responsible management experience in higher education or related administrative or professional field with proven skills in managing large-scale initiatives to a successful conclusion. Understanding of best practice recruitment strategies and admissions business processes; Understanding of academic culture, an appreciation for and knowledge of current technology and software in student recruitment; Strong logical and analytical problem solving skills critical thinking skills with attention to details; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community; Skills in collecting, verifying and reporting data; Strong organizational, time management and project planning skills.
