The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Software Architect with strong leadership skills in and extensive software expertise to join the Mission Systems and Ground Systems (MS&GS) Capability and support the Airpower Teaming System (ATS) programme. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of the MQ-28A Ghost Bat capability to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), which is the first military aircraft to be designed, engineered, and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years. This role can be based in either Brisbane, Adelaide, Williamtown and Melbourne.
Responsibilities
- Working within a world of complexity and creating simplicity, and resolving ambiguity.
- Development of the engineering framework within a regulated environment to comply with high assurance requirements.
- Extensive stakeholder engagement both locally and internationally to harmonise software best standards and practices.
- Shape the software development process and environment, providing for a highly robust and adaptable solution with the evidence given through qualitative and quantitative artefacts.
- Creation of the overall strategy for development, test, assurance, verification, and validation; and seeing this through to implementation.
Experience/Qualifications
- Extensive experience in complex technical development and integration projects or experience with regulated environments, particularly air worthiness and high assurance.
- Honed technical skills, particularly in object orientated programming languages, DevSecOps practices, operating systems including embedded systems, network communications, and Defence specific applications of technology such as TADIL.
- Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to lead and govern and make change influentially.
