What you'll do:

You will be responsible for providing recruitment support, HR back office, and administrative support for all of our plants based in Albany/NY.  This is a great opportunity for an early career professional who would like to grow his or her career in Human Resources by gaining knowledge and practical experience. This role will also provide Executive level support to the President and the rest of the XOS leadership team to keep the organization focused on our highest priorities. The HR & Administrative Generalist position will report to the Sr.HR Business Partner with a dotted line reporting relationship to the President.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Be a full-cycle Recruiter. You will source, pre-screen, lead the interview process and handle searches in US up till Middle Management
  • Own your social media. Create appealing job adverts and source top talent for XOS using relevant platforms and media tools. Research new tools / job boards to attract strong talent with focus on diversity.
  • Get engaged in projects. Participate in tactical recruitment initiatives and process improvement projects

HR Administration:

  • Workday (HRIS): completes all employee transactions including compensation changes, manager changes, new-hires, and terminations. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of employee data, including auditing and corrections.
  • Responsible for employee files, data retention, and maintenance of employee files.
  • Collaborates with Payroll department in support of the time management system and pay updates.

Employee Relations

  • Act as the primary contact for the HR Team and performs customer service functions by answering associate requests and questions or advising associates to the accurate point of contact.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment for benefits
  • Support HR Leadership in the phases of associate life cycle including, but not limited to:
    • New manager and associate onboarding
    • Associate investigations
    • Reporting and Analytics
    • Ongoing manager and associate training and development
    • Benefits inquiries
    • Engagement
    • Performance management
    • Leave of absence
    • HRIS (Workday) Support

Communication

  • Provides guidance to associates and managers on policy, assess trends and develop communication to anticipate larger associate needs.
  • As requested, review and post associate communication from others, EHS, Quality, Operations, Finance, etc.
  • Supports a regular cadence of full associate meetings (town halls, etc.)

Additional HR Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Federal/State laws and postings.
  • Supports HR team as needed on daily tasks, special projects, and programs, to include benefit or policy implementation and performance management.
  • Assists in identifying process improvements in HR processes and implementation of agreed upon countermeasures.

Additional Executive Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the President to ensure that meetings are set up, agendas are created and prepare material requested.
  • Coordinate with XOS leadership to ensure content for monthly Policy Deployment and All Associate meetings are collected.
  • Approver for travel and expense requests for the XOS organization.

Qualifications:   

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 1- 3 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist HR role. 
  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems such as ADP, Workday
  • Strong project management, organizational and analytical skills, along with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of laws governing employment
  • Must be flexible and adapt to new and changing situations
  • Experience working with senior leaders

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
