Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary This position coordinates complex clinical research studies under the direction of Dr. Ebony Carter (Principal Investigator) and the Research Specialist. The coordinator will participate in clinical research study activities related to pregnant patients with hypertension, diabetes, iron-deficiency anemia, and/or depression. This person will oversee multiple research studies simultaneously, and will be responsible for documenting and updating study procedures, performing quality control of data, generating reports for funders, and co-managing a small team of research assistants. Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Confers with PI and Research Specialist to assist in developing plans for research projects and discuss the interpretation of results; collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate. Routinely implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participants progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; makes decisions as when to notify physicians of issues, when to stop participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants; resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency. Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same. Works with staff to identify, screen, and enroll study subjects; ensures lab and data are obtained according to established protocol. Assists with training research assistants and making sure that they are informed of any study updates/changes. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in developing, coordinating, and managing clinical research projects. W orking knowledge of regulatory (e.g., eRA Commons), database management (e.g., REDCap), spreadsheet and statistical analysis software. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree plus a minimum of two years of clinical research experience; a combination of relevant work and education equaling six years may substitute for this requirement. Grade C10 Salary Range $50,600.00 - $75,800.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
