The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology seeks a tenured or tenure-track faculty member who will lead a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary group investigating mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and/or treatments. The appointee's research program will overlap with and enhance one or more areas of strength within the Biological Sciences Division (BSD) including neurobiology, computational neuroscience, genetics, neuroimaging, and immunology. The appointee will lead the Department's dementia research program and collaborate closely with the University of Chicago MedicineCenter for Comprehensive Care and Research on Memory Disorders, the University's Neuroscience Institute, and numerous other programs and centers. Other duties will include teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level and supervision of students and trainees. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. The primary faculty appointment will be in the Department of Neurology with an opportunity for secondary appointments in departments throughout the BSD dependent upon interests and qualifications. We especially welcome applicants who are mid-career and senior-level investigators with leadership skills and experience leading team efforts or building programs.
