The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I or IIto perform clinical research and patient treatment in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols. Supervised by either a Clinical Site Manager or designee.

This position will be in support of the Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR) in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). The Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR) was established to advance the rehabilitative care for service members with combat-related injuries, particularly those with orthopedic trauma, limb loss and neurological complications. The center's goal is to support synergistic research projects to optimize treatment strategies in order to promote the successful return to duty and community reintegration of injured service members. The center also provides a unique platform for fostering innovative research, incorporating clinical and technical advances in the rehabilitative care for service members.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and coordinate with Principal Investigators and other study team members on the development, execution, and closure of assigned protocols.
  • Monitor and support the development of training materials and procedural documents necessary for study implementation.
  • Oversee and/or conduct training of research assistants in the conduct of assigned clinical research studies.
  • Ensure protocol compliance and competency of the research team across all stages of assigned research protocols: recruiting, scheduling, consenting of participant; data collection and entry; data analysis, as applicable. Report recruitment progress weekly, quarterly, and annually. Conduct research interventions for assigned protocols, as needed, in the absence of other study team members.
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs specialist and other team members to ensure regulatory compliance of assigned protocols. Assist with monitoring audits/visits of protocols in support of HJF and WRNMMC regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products for assigned studies, such as journal articles and scientific conference presentations.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. This may include: the attendance of and participation in required training for the role; travel from their assigned workplace to support protocols at other sites or provide coverage for other team members on assigned protocols as needed; contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels.

Physical Capabilities
  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Qualifications

Work Environment
  • This position will take place primarily in a Clinic setting.

Education and Experience

Level I
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required

Level II
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience required
