Job Description:

GDIT is looking for a Software Test Engineer joining our team to support software T&E and analysis work for the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in San Diego, CA.

This is an onsite position

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Software Test and Evaluation (T&E) of Link-16 Advance Tactical Data Link (ATDL) which includes T&E planning and support of activities related to Qualification Tests of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS) terminal and Link-16 waveforms
  • Identify and develop applicable tests, conduct tests, analyze test data, and document test results for inclusion in the formal block upgrade qualification Test Data Reports
  • Preparing the test portions of the Qualification Test mission-based test plan and procedures
  • Preparing automated software scripts and initialization loads for tests
  • Identifying potential issues related to the concurrent operation through post-test analysis
  • Supporting efforts relating to test execution and post-test analysis for waveform implementation
  • Providing support for the retest MIDS terminals to verify that software updates to those terminals corrected problems identified in qualification tests
  • Participating in the biweekly problem review boards (PRB)
  • Dry run block upgrade software scripts and loads on-site

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Engineering degree (will accept experience in lieu of)
  • Digital Communications or wireless engineering technology background
  • 4+ years of systems/software T&E experience, preferably with tactical communication systems
  • Ability to work on-site NIWC Pacific in Point Loma San Diego.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BSEE or BSCS and a minimum of 4 years technical experience with DOD tactical systems
  • Current technical experience (within the last 3 years) in Tactical Communications Systems to include TDL, ATDL, SDR, and/or related C4I systems at the systems level. Desired TDL, ATDL, and SDR Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience to include analyzing test requirements, T&E planning, developing traditional and Mission-Based test procedures, providing for traceability of requirements, test execution, post-test analysis and generating test reports. T&E experience should include testing for functionality and interoperability using relevant TDL/ATDL test tools.
  • Prefer an electrical engineer or computer scientist with an emphasis in digital communications or a prior Electronics Tech (ET) or Aviation Electronics Tech (AT) with demonstrated technical experience in Link16 or similar data link.

The likely salary range for this position is $92,000 - $138,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
