About this role:
The Wells Fargo Commodities Product Group is seeking a Commodities Product Group Director for a base metals structuring and origination position. Wells Fargo is one of the largest domestic lenders to the metal manufacturing and extruding industry, so the depth of potential opportunities with currently onboarded customers is extensive. This position reports into the Markets Division of the Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), which transacts in traded products, such as foreign exchange, rates, commodities, and equities.
This role will be based in New York or Houston.
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for trading, originating, structuring, and/or managing transactions involving base metals
Provide commodity inventory working capital and hedging solutions to Wells Fargo's customers
Execute common transaction structures including, reverse-repo agreements, obligated and unobligated two-way transactions, intermediation / three-way transactions, commodity leases, commodity consignments, and prepaid contracts
Work closely with Wells Fargo's banking partners, as well as legal, credit, market risk, and other members of the structuring team under the head of the Commodity Linked Finance desk
Manage the origination and management of these transactions, including risk management, modeling, and obtaining customer flow through deal origination
Required Qualifications, US:
5+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of base metals origination and/or marketing experience
Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals
Experience with trading physical commodities within the financial services industry
A master's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Strong financial background in capital markets
Experience with modeling structured energy transactions
Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Base pay range for this position in New York is 200,000.00 - 275,000.00 USD
May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
