Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Unlimited Job Description: Minneapolis College has a full-time, permanent faculty position available in our School of Information Technology . Instructor Responsibilities: Develop & teach face-to-face, online & blended courses Teach daytime, evening, & at alternative sites to meet the needs of a diverse population Support department's decision-making with respect to budgeting, scheduling & selecting textbooks Participate in department meetings, Advisory Committee, & extracurricular opportunities as part of larger college community Interact with students using a variety of teaching methods, advising, holding office hours, & involvement in student organizations such as Computer Club and computer security competition Participate in departmental assessment, outreach programs, student recruiting, & student open houses Required Qualifications: Must possess or meet minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State colleges and universities credential field of Computer Systems Networking, #500094: https://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/fields/500094.html Educational Requirement: Associate degree in a computer or information technology field Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in networking, network administration, cybersecurity, or forensics. Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement (to be completed within first three years of employment) Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or comparable computer-related field Teaching knowledge of computer networking, including Microsoft &/or Linux server development, administration & management Teaching knowledge of installation, configuration & management of network equipment such as Cisco equipment, firewalls, IDPS , & wireless networking technologies Teaching knowledge of information security, virtualization technologies, cloud services Certifications in A+, Network+, Security+, MCP , CASP , CISSP Experience teaching, especially with multicultural and nontraditional students Experience teaching or training in a two-year college or technical college setting Excellent organizational & human relations skills Willingness to participate in activities supporting a culture of continuous improvement in all collegiate areas Experience teaching or reinforcing teamwork & career preparation skills within technology-focused environments Other Requirements: Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College About: The safety of all members of the Minneapolis College campus community is of vital concern.
