Jacobs is seeking a Communications Systems Test and Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting our customer in the National Capital Region.  In this position you’ll be a part of a team that shapes the strategic future for our clients and defines the strategy to get them there. This position requires an Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides client with expertise in testing and integration of communications systems between ground and airborne platforms. 
  • Uses knowledge of communications systems and their relationships to other telecommunications systems to analyze, evaluate, and recommend improvements to current and future systems.
  • Advises the customer of technical approaches to solving integration-related problems. 
  • Provides input in requirements analysis, conducts systems requirements reviews, develops interface standards, and performs technical/non-technical assessment recommendations on communications-related systems.
  • Develops test procedures, performs testing and evaluation, data collection with metrics, performance analysis, and technical studies for multiple government entities.
  • Uses MS Office applications to build analysis products that capture and convey the results of the testing and integration. 
  • Provides input for the development and delivery of on and offsite training related to the testing program and associated communications systems. 
  • Conducts background research and provides analytical support and recommendations for the improvement of communication systems.
  • Participates in activities to ensure system integration across the enterprise as appropriate.
  • Develops commissioning plans to transition communication systems from concept to fully operating capabilities. 
  • Recommends future enhancements, fixes, and proposed modifications to systems procured.
  • Ensures developmental systems are interoperable with and integrated into current communications equipment and are designed to meet user requirements.
  • Participates as a consultant, advisor, or member in various communications planning and working groups.
  • Provides technical inputs to future and current policies, directives, plans, and CONOPS.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses. 
  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications, with a minimum of (6-8) years of progressive, relevant work experience or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications discipline and (5) years of progress experience. 
  • Position requires strong verbal and written communications skills.  
  • Position requires 10% travel per year.
  • 10 years of Department of Defense (DoD) communications systems experience.
  • Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility is required with adjudication within the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

Preferred:

  • Significant familiarity with military and commercial communications systems and the ability to demonstrate proficiency in RF communications principles, technical analysis, and problem solving.
  • 20+ years of Department of Defense (DoD) Communications Systems experience
