Job Duties: We are seeking to hire two motivated research technicians who will be responsible for 1) conducting behavioral assessments in rats at different developmental periods (40%), 2) performing stereotaxic and intrajugular surgeries (15%), 3) collecting and analyzing brain tissue samples using techniques such as immunohistochemistry and proteomics (15%), 4) analyzing data and presenting this data to other team members at research and lab meetings (10%), and 5) supporting general lab maintenance (20%; e.g., recording data, maintaining laboratory equipment, etc). Individuals will be required to walk one mile per day and be able to lift 20 pounds.   Potential applicants should have a strong interest in behavior and cognition, and how these processes relate to neurobiology. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, or related field, or a combination of education/experience in related field totaling at least four years. Preferred Qualifications: • Laboratory experience with animals (preferably with behavioral assays) • Flexibility in scheduling (must be available at least one weekend day) • Excellent organizational and record keeping • Work well with groups • Proactive problem solving
