LinQuest is seeking aProject Systems Engineer to lead one of our project teams in El Segundo, CA.

LinQuest is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for LinQuest employment. However, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates.

You will lead a Systems Engineering team defining and developing the next generation of ground systems that will provide robust resource management for satellite communication supporting the US Space Force's Military Communications & Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Directorate of the Space Systems Command Military Satellite Communications. You will lead Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will direct team leads who lead and support working groups responsible for: leading technical discussions, resolving and identifying risks and requirement gaps, developing briefings, and tracking action items.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I). We support the US Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Responsibilities:

  • Lead a project team consisting of multiple disciples, including systems engineering, integration, and test systems engineers, as well as scheduling, risk, logistics, and CM/DM
  • Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to support development of technical baselines
  • Analyze system requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline
  • Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps in flow of customer requirements down thru the system and component levels
  • Direct team leads who support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings by creating briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes, to resolve risks, requirements gaps, and action items
  • Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concerns
  • Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractor to adjudicate the comments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force management
  • Support management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions


Required Skills:

  • BS degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, or network and telecommunications
  • Understanding of the discipline and practice of Systems Engineering through the system lifecycle phases of concept, development, production, and transition to operations and sustainment
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), DOORs and other tools used to support requirements development and traceability
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Demonstrated organization capability with ability to handle competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to customers, senior leaders, and stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Active Secret clearance


Required Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in technical leadership of an SE&I effort
  • 10+ years’ experience in DoD space systems
  • 10+ years’ experience with system requirements, architecture, test, verification, and/or analysis
  • 4+ years’ experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, Evolved Strategic SATCOM, EPS, Protected Tactical, WGS, and FAB-T programs


Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
  • Certifications in MBSE (OCSMP)
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP)
  • Familiarity and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI preferred


Compensation:

  • Starting salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
