Requisition Number: 2021-421 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Radiology 50000527 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The University of Nebraska Medical Center, Department of Radiology seeks applications from Board-certified radiologists with outstanding credentials in neuroradiology. The successful candidate will spend substantial time on neuroradiology. Potential opportunity to participate in non-neuroradiology also exists. The division of neuroradiology covers brain, spine, orbit and head and neck imaging. The successful candidate will have interest and expertise in MR spectroscopy, MR perfusion/permeability analysis, fMRI, diffusion tensor imaging (including tractography) and CT/MR angiography. The neuroradiologist will also perform myelography and image guided lumbar punctures. The clinical work includes active interactions with otolaryngology, ophthalmology, neurology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology and participation in associated tumor boards. Night coverage is provided by radiologists employed by the department and includes subspecialized neuroradiologists. The neuroradiology section has seven full and part-time members in addition to the three neuroradiologists that provide coverage at night. Research opportunities exist in many aspects of neuroradiology with possibilities for collaboration across the spectrum of the neurosciences, medicine and surgery. Emphasis will be given to candidates with an interest in research and who have demonstrated publications. A Siemens 3T Prisma research scanner is available in the research Core for Advanced MRI . Additionally, the MEG center offers a unique neuroscience collaborative opportunity. Many education opportunities exist that include teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates should be committed to academic radiology. Fellowship or additional training in neurological radiology is required. This appointment is a full-time position with rank dependent upon qualifications.
