**Job Summary**

In this role you will provide program leadership for the critical sustainability efforts in key lines of business. Recognized across the organization for functional expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex IT architecture problems. Partnering with the product development, product delivery (operations) and project management teams to define the strategic architecture direction, policy and standards. You will provide direction for complex systems across multiple architectural layers, business domains and delivery teams. Effectively influences, negotiates and leads technology initiatives, alternatives, evaluations and implementations. Focuses on software and hardware infrastructure components of solutions along with corresponding roadmaps.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Provides thought leadership in technology direction, technical services, vendor partnership and industry standards adoption.

+ Sets architecture standards and assist with the adoption of these standards.

+ Participates in project, support, and development initiatives designing solutions that optimally address current and future business requirements and infrastructure plans.

+ Champions appropriate use of technology and provides leadership in balancing technical elegance with functional requirements and practical benefits, as we implement and integrate technologies.

+ Establishes strong relationships with leadership ensuring selected technologies are understood.

+ Acts as a conduit for questions and information flow, when those outside of Digital have ideas for new technology applications.

+ Provides coordination across technical teams to encourage application of standards and adherence to standards-based methodologies.

+ Partners with peers in Digital and with relevant subject matter experts, articulates both the current state and the vision for the technical architecture.

+ Acts as mentor and coach to key technical staff.

+ Keeps current with industry technologies and trends; understand the appropriateness for applications and timing of those technologies for the organization.

+ Communicates to all levels of the organization (including technical and non-technical audiences, Senior Leadership, VPs and C-level executives).

+ Translates disparate business strategies into comprehensive, pragmatic technology strategies and execution plans (roadmaps) to satisfy business strategy.

+ Delivers solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability while accounting for development and maintenance costs.

**Principal Architect Responsibilities**

Will coach and mentor less-experienced personnel and act as team leader on more complicated systems projects.

**Qualifications**

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

**A. Education and Experience**

+ Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), in computer science, MS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

+ Ten (10) years of previous experience in data enterprise environments in addition to education requirement.

**B. Preferred Experience**

+ Degree focus in Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Science or similar study.

+ Experience in developing and deploying enterprise Data Integration Architectures.

+ Cloud Architecture (AWS) Databases (RDBMS, NOSQL, Data-vault, ODS) and Cloud DW (Snowflake, Redshift)

+ Deep knowledge of data schema such as star schemas, relational and data vault structures.

+ Protocols such as JSON, XML, RestAPI and mulesoft

+ ETL experience with Matillion and Informatica

+ Data modeling Lucidchart, SQLDBM and deploys developed using DataVault methodology

+ BI experience with Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or microstrategy

+ DASCA, AWS Certified Data Analytics, CCP, BDSCP Certification(s)
