Requisition Number: 2021-331 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Neurological Sciences 50001975 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: This faculty position is for an Neurohospitalist who is a BC/BE neurologist. Fellowship training or experience is welcome but not required. Faculty member would participate in the clinical, educational and research activities of the Department of Neurological Sciences' Neurohospital Medicine Program. Clinical activities would include participation in the inpatient Stroke Service, General Neurology Service, & Tele- Stroke Program. Faculty member would be involved in resident and medical student education and has the opportunity to participate in clinical and translational research trials. The practice could include some outpatient clinic if desired. Neurohospitalist sought to join the Department of Neurological Sciences Faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) Program to enhance our Neurohospital Medicine Program and inpatient/outpatient Neurovascular care. We have a large and growing inpatient Neurology practice with a broad diversity of clinical exposure. The candidate must be BC/BE. Fellowship training or prior experience is welcome but not required. This faculty member would participate in inpatient clinical programs, including the inpatient Stroke Service, Tele-Stroke Program, and General Neurology Service. Inpatient clinical activities are supported by residents and advance practice providers. The candidate will participate in teaching opportunities with rotating Neurology Residents/medical students and has the opportunity to participate in research trials in a supportive academic, hospital, and community environment. The Nebraska Stroke Center has been certified by the Joint Commission since 2005 and provides outstanding stroke care with a multidisciplinary team that includes 3 other full-time Neurohospitalsts, as ell as Emergency Room Physicians, Neuro- radiologists, Vascular Neurologists, Endovascular Neurosurgeons, a dedicated Clinical Neurosciences floor and ICU , and case managers. Neurology Residents and other Neurology faculty will support this faculty member in inpatient care and after hours call coverage.
