Requisition Number: 2021-400 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Surgery-Acute Care Surgery 50003925 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a candidate to be an integral part of our faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collegial team that is passionate about providing clinically excellent and compassionate care to all patients. As a faculty member in Acute Care Surgery, will participate in the clinical teaching of students, residents and other health professionals in the areas of emergency general surgery, trauma, and critical care surgery as well as participate in potential clinical and basic research programs. Candidate will also provide clinical care for patients in the areas of Emergency General Surgery, Critical Care, and Trauma Our hospital partner, Nebraska Medicine is the only nationally certified Level I Trauma Center in Nebraska, which sees 2500 trauma related admissions per year and 1400 emergency general surgery admissions per year. The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified or board eligible in Surgical Critical Care, have completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and demonstrate a strong interest in teaching residents and medical students.
