GENERAL PURPOSE:Ross is looking for an experienced Cloud Applications Platform Engineer. This person will be responsible for managing Cloud enterprise application platforms
This role will require a skillset across a variety of technologies. This individual will often have to learn on their own and remain on the cusp of new technologies in the Cloud application spaces.
Manages all production and non-production cloud application environments. Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies. Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
The base salary range for this role is $93,200 - $176,550. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for introducing of new cloud application services, standards, automation and engineering.
• Align cloud application environments in accordance Cloud CoE (Center of Excellence) for security, architecture, and engineering.
• Responsible for performance engineering and capacity planning.
• Design and configuration of monitoring and alerting.
• Design and build of application deployment automation.
• Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Training teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g. business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and end users) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide Level 3 support for production incidents, identifying root cause, fixing, documenting and document and implementing preventive measures.
• Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.
• Staying current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate and excel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 7-10 years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and strong knowledge of cloud technologies and principles
• Proven track record of service introduction and continuous improvement
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI and/or Python is required
• Experience with Azure SQL and Cosmos DB is preferred
• Knowledge or experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps is preferred
• Experience with Azure Event Hubs and API management is preferred
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, ARC and Spring Services preferred
• Terraform experience is preferred
• Excellent understanding of Cloud security
• Microsoft Azure Admin certification is a big plus
• Experience with cloud application performance and tuning
• Strong understanding of computer networking, including Cloud networking configuration and management
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Team player willing to partner with internal and external teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, including using a computer, attending meetings, working as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. Regular attendance also is a requirement of the position.
