What You Will Do:

JOB SUMMARY: This role works independently under the supervision of the director to provide functional support for the Environment of Care/Safety program.  This will include evaluation of, and compliance to, the 4 elements of The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards: Safety; Hazardous materials and waste management; Emergency Preparedness; Life Safety (Fire).  Further the TM will be responsible for undertaking risk assessments, mitigating and improving processes to ensure visitor, patient and team member safety.  The TM will interface at all levels of the hospitals, with contractors and vendors, legal counsel and may have contact with patients, visitors and team members. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education & Training: Safety training; OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification and OSHA Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification required; Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) preferred; a Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Work Orientation & Experience:  Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Safety, Emergency Management or OSHA.  Healthcare experience preferred.  Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.  Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) handle multiple tasks simultaneously; b) utilize Microsoft Office suite of applications; c) maintain confidentiality.  Demonstrated skill in: a) attention to detail; b) excellent customer service; c) effective oral and written communication; d) risk identification and reduction; e) critical thinking and analysis.
