SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the operations for the DATAMARK business. Core functional components and teams include Sales, Software Development, Business Systems Analysis, Finance, Contracts Management, Outreach and Communication, and Project/Process Management. The Director is expected to lead the creation, distribution and innovation of DATAMARK Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) technologies that are focused and aligned with the overall strategy of the DATAMARK and Michael Baker business.

Support the President of Consulting and Technology Solutions to extend and expand strategy created for DATAMARK while also transforming the team to drive sales of intellectual property solutions. Work closely with the MBI Operating Units on business development efforts to increase Michael Baker revenues of Intellectual Property-associated solutions for our clients.

DESCRIPTION & DUTIES

Business Management

• Demonstrate a broad understanding of technology and solution trends. Work with business process owners to identify short and long-term solution alternatives and innovations that will improve business performance and revenue.

• Develop teams with deep business process expertise in alignment with DATAMARK service offerings

• Responsible for representing DATAMARK offerings to internal project teams and customers via in person and web demonstrations.

• Represent DATAMARK in responses to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

• Responsible for all aspects of the ownership of relationships between the clients and the DATAMARK organization with respect to the engagement assigned.

• Support business case development by ensuring that scope, requirements, business impact and project timelines are realistic and achievable.

• Understand the justification behind solution delivery initiatives including the motivating factors for all stakeholders and the management of stakeholder expectations.

• Analyze, develop, and recommend modifications to supporting business processes that will result in the most efficient use of the proposed DATAMARK solutions.

• Evaluate requests, identify solutions and alternatives, determine high-level work estimates, and route for appropriate approval and prioritization.

Marketing and Sales

• Meet annual Net New Work Added goals for the DATAMARK line of business.

• Lead team of business development specialist to create and deliver demos to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.

• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of marketing related materials (product sheets, presentations, web content, etc.).

• Socialize solution value proposition via in-person and web-based presentations. These may include office visits, Operational strategy meetings, and other internal and external strategic initiatives

• Ensure that content of the DATAMARK web sites are current are functionally useful.

• Oversee the Partner Program, developing and implementing a comprehensive market strategy.

Financial Operations - Working with the Divisional Chief Financial Officer, financial responsibilities include:

• Oversee and coordinate the development of the Annual Operating Plan as well as the Mid-year Forecast.

• Collaboratively assist with the development of the Annual Strategic Business Plans.

• Monitor, analyze and interpret the region's operating results and drive corrective measures in a collaborative manner with the Operational Management team.

• Manage all aspects of financial performance for projects including; accurate revenue recognition, estimates at completion, monthly forecasting, billing, accounts receivable and collections.

• Support "Red Team" reviews in aspects of proposal develop associated with; pricing, basis of estimates and contract terms and conditions.

• Develop a monthly analytical summary for Senior and Executive Management highlighting operating results and Key Performance Indicators.

• Perform monthly financial analysis aimed at detecting business opportunities and risks.

• Perform complex analysis of project performance, labor utilization and expenses.

Project and Process Management - Direct the Divisional PMO to support activities of:

• Define and administer the DATAMARK Project Management Framework across all teams.

• Responsible for the creation of queue of work activities and projects for the DATAMARK tool and template production teams (solutions development) in accordance with defined process and KPIs.

• Create and maintain required level of project plans and the information necessary for the plan including scope definition.

Solutions Development, Support, and Hosting - Direct the Product Development teams activities of:

• Ensure fit-for-purpose technologies are leveraged to create, distribute, and maintain DATAMARK offerings.

• Solutions Development will focus on templatizing DATAMARK services business processes as IP/Software offerings to the market.

• Responsible for quality, cost, and schedule of requested new solutions development to support the DATAMARK strategic alignment with the markets we serve.

• Align team to provide exceptional support for production and marketing users of solutions supported.

• Ensure the DATAMARK hosting platforms are available and well understood by the team and customers.

People/Resource Management

• Organize a scalable resource team (local and distributed) to accomplish tasks in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Develop and implement a scalable request management process to integrate new requests and enhancements into an appropriate work-schedule.

• Lead and motivate a highly functional team-based environment. Responsible for the recruiting, development, and support requirements of all direct personnel.

• Assist and coach staff in areas of continuous improvement, customer service orientation, and career development

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology, engineering, or related discipline required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility in Business Development and Operations Management. Specific experience in managing a business with Next Generation 9-1-1 offerings and GIS clients required. System development/configuration, of which at least 5 years was spent leading the designing and implementing complex process-centric business systems preferred.

The salary range for this position is $132,000-$302,000. This will be dependent on the location, experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
