Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems (EESS) Division is seeking a Lead Field Service Representative (FSR)  to join our team. This position is based at our Pleasanton, CA location, and will service 2/3 of the state of CA. Relocation assistance will be provided.

As a Lead Field Service Representative, you will :

    • Serve as a crew lead/ foreman in the field on the job site
    • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, install, wreck out, acceptance testing for Eaton switchgear and components
    • Prepare for job execution and assign crew tasks 
    • Oversee crew safety and crew work quality
    • Teach and train junior crew correct and safe work methods
    • Engage customer
    • Input potential sales leads
    • Utilize Windows applications and various commercial and proprietary software tools suited to the EESS work scope

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DIMENSIONS

    • Demonstrate professional safety leadership in the unique situations encountered at diverse work sites, both office and field.
    • Achieve Eaton Field Certified (EFC) level 3 safety qualifications via completion of mentoring tasks, formal training, and skill and knowledge examinations. 
    • Efficiently use provided technology (laptops, smart phones, tablets, test rigs, etc) and master all common service tools and software (testing, operation, administrative, and financial).
    • Provide timely, detailed, and accurate reports on service work performed, product performance, and warranty liabilities.
    • Continuously improve personal, technical, and professional business skills to enhance ability to troubleshoot and repair various products, and instruct others.
    • Demonstrate ability to service newly designed and experimental Eaton equipment, which has not been seen before, and instill confidence in the customer.
    • Provide customers basic product operating information via phone or on-site consultation, and be available for 24-hour x 7 days a week on-call duty and respond to emergencies with minimal notification.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with authorized service shops, other Eaton organizations, and product business units.
    • Demonstrate ability to handle irate or difficult customers and gain alignment and satisfaction. 
    • Become trusted technical resource to customers, to identify and present additional sales opportunities to customers.

POSITION CRITERIA:

    • Candidate requires minimal supervision to plan and execute typical EESS field work (crewed or solo) with safety and quality. 
    • Candidate demonstrates strong organizational, project, time and task management skills, with use of personal computers and software systems to manage and track numerous priorities.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints.
    • Strength in coaching/mentoring of field personnel.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Electrical and EESS industry, products and solutions.   
    • Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function and able to assist in the generation of proposals
    • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings
    • Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC authorization
    • Must be able to complete and maintain internal safety certifications

Qualifications

    • Associates degree OR military experience OR Field Service experience required
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems 
    • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates living outside 50 miles of Pleasanton, CA. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.        

Preferred qualifications:

    • 5 years experience overseeing electrical field crews (construction or maintenance) is highly desirable.
    • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable.
    • Experience with protective relays, variable frequency drives, or power meters is highly desirable.
    • CA Electrician Certification highly desirable.
    • Electrical or General Contractor’s License

 

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.   The annual salary range for this role is $104,640 - $143,880 a year.
