Position Requirements
- PhD in chemical or mechanical engineering, or an associated field.
- Knowledge of chemical and thermal processes.
- Knowledge of electrochemical systems.
- Knowledge of physical and material-based hydrogen storage, hydrogen containment materials, and hydrogen transmission.
- Knowledge of analyses of components and energy conversion systems.
- Knowledge of computational techniques and numerical methods.
- Knowledge of computer simulation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of C/C++ language and parallel programming with MPI.
- Skills in using computer software such as COMSOL, StarCCM+, Matlab, Simulink Python and Excel.
- Skilled in oral and written communications and presentations at all levels of the organization.
- A successful candidate must have the ability to model Argonne's core values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with high performance computing (HPC) software platforms.
- Background in modeling of engineering systems. Ability to develop, optimize, test, and run large-scale parallel applications on HPC systems.
- Hands-on skills with X-ray computed tomography.
- Knowledge of image processing and statistical analysis of microscopy images.
