Purpose and Essential Duties
This position will assess building electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. The analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations, and the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency, EV charging, demand response, and deferred maintenance scope on assigned projects. Assist in the production of projects that are on time, within budget, and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications. Specific responsibilities include:
- Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions either independently or with senior-level staff/project manager. Assists in identifying and preparing renewable energy, energy efficiency, EV Charging, demand response, and deferred maintenance scope.
- Performs electrical system calculations and analysis including reading and editing one-line diagrams.
- Interacts in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed either independently or with senior-level staff/project manager; prepares meeting notes.
- Designs and prepares drawings for electrical systems for projects.
- Assists the development team in coordination with other disciplines including mechanical systems, energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, design, etc.
- Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
- Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Engineering or technical degree.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
- Highly proficient in Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written format.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines while on survey.
- Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey.
- Passion for quality and client satisfaction.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
- 1-3 years of energy-related client interface for an engineering design firm.
- Experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field.
- Experience with electrical design drawings.
- Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
- 25% - 50% travel. Valid driver's license is required.
- Able to walk, stand, climb, and kneel on job sites.
- Able to sit or stand at a desk for long periods of times.
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs.
