This position is for SCR Medical Transportation, a Beacon Mobility Company.

Basic Function: The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of payroll including preparation of related reporting.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for full life-cycle payroll processing using payroll software
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll related and/or human resources functions to ensure that payroll policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance and best practices.
  • Manages and enters all garnishments, wage assignments, withholdings, taxes, etc.
  • Reconciles payroll changes to reflect personnel changes made through HR or HRIS Including updates related to new hire, termination, position changes, and other personnel related changes.
  • Ensures the timely delivery of all payroll checks for distribution.
  • Reconciles payroll records of benefit plan elections such as group health insurance, 401k, and other optional elections.
  • Respond to payroll related employment verification.  
  • Works with managers and supervisors on approving timesheets and updates, reviews and maintains related information for all SCR Employees
  • Interacts with all departments to ensure accurate payroll information is received in a timely manner.

Education/Work Experience

  • HS Diploma required; Associate’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University is preferred and at least a minimum of three years of payroll and/or accounting experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.   

Specific Technical/Job-Related Skills

  • Must be proficient in payroll and reporting 
  • Communication: Must exhibit strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and communicate and interpret payroll related correspondence.
  • Ability to write reports and business communications. Ability to effectively present information in person or in groups and respond to questions.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills. MUST have knowledge and extensive experience with payroll software
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
