The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University was established in 1979 to conduct basic and applied research in robotics technologies relevant to industrial and societal tasks. Seeking to combine the practical and the theoretical, we have diversified efforts and approaches to robotics science while retaining the original goal of realizing the potential of the robotics field.

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment

Job Functions:

  • Provides project management services to small to medium projects with increasing complexity across the university.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation integrating structured project management methodology.
  • Accountable for project planning, scheduling, and budget and risk assessment throughout project cycle. Facilitates communications for project teams, sponsors and university constituents.
  • Consults/partners with multi-departmental stakeholders, technical managers, and vendors.
  • May direct/garner technical or staff resources at various stages in the project cycle.
  • Has shared accountability for project outcomes.
  • Position may reside within IT functional area.

Required skill set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 5 – 8 years of project management experience.
