Overview
The role is the Business Finance specialist for the CRE US Desk, under Fixed Income & Currencies Financing umbrella. Business Finance encompasses product control (financial and revenue control) and finance management. You would be responsible for overseeing the full front to back of the financials, from daily revenue reporting and validating traders P&L to being responsible for business aligned Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Resource Management, and Accounting Close. You would report to CRE US Business Finance manager.
The CRE US Business Finance team is 15 people strong, with 5 people in NY and 10 in Mumbai. You will co-ordinate with London partners to ensure optimization of processes and consistency across the regions and have a close partnership with the Mumbai Daily P&L team and Accounting Close team to ensure material accuracy of the financials and daily P&L.

What You'll Do
- Oversight of daily Risk and P&L and working with Mumbai Business Finance team to facilitate resolution issues
- Oversight of month end close and control environment and facilitate resolution of issues with appropriate teams
- Produce commentary and analyze business performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This will include business, region, and entity level analysis covering revenues, costs, and financial resources such as Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) and Leverage (CRD4)
- Monthly validation and analysis of the general ledger to MIS reported P&L, Capital & Balance sheet utilization via the various control forums, with particular focus on impact of upcoming regulatory pressures
- Quarterly control environment certification, complex disclosures preparation and regulatory reviews (Trading Book/Banking book)
- Regular interaction with all areas of the Bank including front office, risk functions, valuation group, and treasury
Skills You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field equivalent
- Relevant experience working in a finance/ accounting environment, product control, financial control role, preferably for structured products within a financial services institution
- Loans, bonds, credit, and interest rate derivatives product control knowledge would be an asset
- Familiarity with performing general ledger account balance reconciliation and applying USGAAP / IFRS accounting rule would be considered an asset

- Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and manage relationships with stakeholders across the Bank (i.e. Front Office, Market Risk Management, Valuation Group, Accounting Policy Group, etc.)
- Demonstrate a strong control mindset and ability to influence virtual teams in other locations
- Strong excel skills /organizational skills / proactive / problem solving
Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $85,000 to $140,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration
