Postdoctoral Research Associate in Simulating Host-Virus Interactions - Military Veterans

at Los Alamos National Laboratory

Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Come join the brightest minds at the most innovative R&D facility supporting our national security! We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with experience in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of biological systems as part of a new Laboratory Directed Research and Development project. The project has a few different thrusts, and experience in any of these would be useful: 1) simulation of large macromolecular systems; 2) simulation of smaller protein systems, including the modeling of cell membranes, and the usage of enhanced sampling techniques.

Our team has leaders in the field of large-scale biological simulations and virology, and includes a good mix of experimental and computational-focused team members. We will aim to gain biophysical insights into large marcromolecular complexes and viruses.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Excellent English language communication skills (written and oral) are important.

Education/Experience: A PhD in a related field of study, typically obtained within the last five years.

Desired Qualifications:

- A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in the field

- Experience with both all-atom and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation scales

- Experience with enhanced sampling techniques

- Experience with free energy/binding techniques
