Job Title: Intake Specialist 
Location: Wichita, KS
Pay Rate: $17 hourly
Schedule: 2 shifts available: 11pm-7am or 12am-8am


Job Description: The Intake Worker will assess individuals/families for eligibility for services.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Pre-screening homeless individuals/families that are in need of emergency shelter for program eligibility both in person and on the phone
  • Provide linkages with appropriate agencies/community resources
  • Completion of intake procedures paperwork, facility tour, providing supplies, etc.
  • Completion of daily, weekly, monthly paperwork, including client interviews, Homeless Management Information System form, meal counts, shift change reports, etc. in a timely and accurate manner
  • Supervision of the facility and the residents.
  • Responsible for maintaining the safety of the group and ensuring compliance with house rules and program policies
  • Assisting residents in the following areas: Crisis stabilization, developing problem solving skills, appropriate parenting behavior, and independent living skills development
  • Responsible for snack and meal preparation Model appropriate social and interpersonal interaction
  • Participate in staff trainings Blood Borne Pathogens, Safe From Harm, First Aid, etc. Maintain the security of the facility.
  • Report to the Operations Manager the need for supplies and all maintenance concerns
  • Complete incident reports and Safe From Harm reports when appropriate As part of The Salvation Army, comply with all confidentiality laws applying to social services
Qualifications:
  • Administrative experienced required (2-5 years)
  • Experience working in social services department
  • Good organizational skills
  • Great communication skills
