Summary / Objective

Responsible for overall strategy, results, actuarial consulting and coordination of the business development and relationship management activities associated with the Defined Benefit practice. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for DB operations across all locations
  • Develop and oversee departmental strategies and growth objectives
  • Responsible for revenue management, budgeting, and overall team operations
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets and client invoicing
  • Serve as actuarial resource / subject matter expert to internal and external clients
  • Set and maintain quality standards
  • Lead business development efforts, including RFP responses, conference attendance, develop and maintain a professional business network
  • Oversee human capital, which includes employee engagement, work delegation, professional development, succession planning, performance evaluations, and compensation planning
  • Communicate and guide department according to organization's vision and mission
  • Serve as Lead Consultant and Relationship Manager with clients regarding risk management of pension plans including budget planning, cost-reduction strategies, and plan design analysis
  • Review revenue, monitor expenses, and ensure the financial success of the practice
  • Review and determine growth opportunities and strategy
  • Represent the organization, liaison with external companies and other third parties on behalf of the company, participate in professional networking

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, actuarial science, or other related field
  • FSA strongly preferred, EA required
  • 15+ years of pension consulting, project management and staff management experience
  • Strong communication skills, including client consulting and presentations
