The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Lead Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer located in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications

  • Lead work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Oversee the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

  • Solve problems concerning and provide other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

  • Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs

  • Make recommendations for technology investments

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated and talented Electrical Systems Design Engineer (Level 4) to join the Missiles and Weapon Systems (MWS) Electrical Engineering Team in Huntsville, Alabama. The Missiles and Weapons Systems (MWS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence.   • Support GMD Ground Systems hardware and software design, analysis, integration and deployment over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Support integration of electronic and electrical system requirements for the GMD Launch Support Systems

  • Test and validate electronic and electrical system requirements for the GMD Launch Support Systems to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

This position allows telecommuting.  The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware and software integration testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ year of experience in hardware rack level, system level and/or software test procedure development, test execution and reporting

  • 3+ year of experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
