Job Summary

The Production Support Software Specialist is responsible for assisting internal end users in the use and troubleshooting of applications and system interfaces as an IT Help Desk Analyst. The Software Specialist works with other analysts, developers, and IT to understand the internal software portfolio and troubleshooting methods. In addition, this position is responsible for documenting work in tickets and contributing to the troubleshooting knowledgebase. The Software Specialist supports the computing needs of the Plant Engineering (PENG) organization.

The position will execute activities ensuring optimum outputs are achieved in the most economic and safe manner while supporting the integrity and infrastructure of the department.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Monitoring and answering incoming communications from internal end users.
  • Understanding applications within team's internal software application portfolio.
  • Properly following procedures and work processes.
  • Assisting internal end users with problem resolution.
  • Resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Documenting all internal end user inquiries in tracking tickets.
  • Updating internal team knowledgebase to assist with future troubleshooting efforts.
  • Supporting the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

This position is currently a telework/remote position but could convert to on-site position with a 30 day notice, at that time selected candidate would be required to report to the jobsite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Associates degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience: 0 - 2 years' experience in troubleshooting web-based software applications. Must be a good communicator who enjoys working with people. Must be willing to continually learn and positively interact with others. Must be able to adapt to shifting priorities.

Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Experience with a SQL editor such as Oracle SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, TOAD, etc.
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
This position is currently a telework/remote position but could convert to on-site position with a 30 day notice, at that time selected candidate would be required to report to the jobsite.The Construction Site is located (22 miles north of Richland). This position works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
