**Director Application Development & Support**

**Summary**

The Director Application Development & Support provides leadership and specialized expertise associated with the selection, implementation, ongoing support, and delivery of all applications leveraged by Ryder. Ryder has a mix of legacy systems and modernized applications in newer technologies. Some applications are developed in-house, and some are products that integrate into back-end systems, delivered via On Prem infrastructure and Cloud delivery platforms. This IT leader must have the technical expertise and the leadership skills to help drive the modernization and digitization efforts while leading multiple Agile teams. This leader will also work with Ryder internal business partners in support of external customers and will act as a liaison between business and IT. In addition, this leader must collaborate with IT enterprise teams to make sure that the Infrastructure, Security, and Enterprise Architecture guidelines are established and adhered to.

**Essential Functions**

Operational Excellence

+ Driving organizational and cultural changes needed to achieve strategic objectives and championing the change to facilitate support and understanding throughout the organization.

+ Establishing the course of action to accomplish long-term goals based on logical assumptions, facts, financial data, industry trends, resources, constraints, and organizational values.

+ Lead the IT Development & Delivery Team using .Net, SFDC, Azure, Appian, SharePoint, SQL, AS400, Mainframe, Xamarin.

+ Enable the technical team to deliver strategic initiatives and minor enhancements while maintaining the SLA’s on Essential Services for the Product.

Workforce Development & Strategy

+ Guiding, motivating, and developing the team to achieve successful outcomes and maintain accountability for business objectives.

+ Creating an environment and culture that inspires and encourages others to generate new ideas and creative solutions with measurable improvement and increased value for customers (internal or external).

+ Manage a team of 6-8 Direct reports and 30-40 indirect reports that work in EST.

Business Alignment

+ Seeking and leveraging opportunities to provide an exceptional experience for both internal and external customers by being customer centric and ensuring the customer’s perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, processes, and individual activities.

Financial Management

+ Verify accurate solution estimates are provided, proposals are consistent with guidelines/standards, and potential risks have been identified.

+ Work with Portfolio/Program Managers, Enterprise Teams, Operations, partners and suppliers on solution designs and proposals that maximize leverage and reflect true costs/benefits.

+ Performance management and administrative functions including budgeting, reporting (personnel utilization, project status, salary administration, etc.).

+ Partner with the IT Leadership team to develop a comprehensive Total Cost of Ownership model for all products in the Ryder portfolio.

+ Responsible for the P&L for location code.

Vendor Management

+ Effectively manage key vendors leveraging ongoing QBRs to drive continuous value creation.

+ Lead the development and execution of strategic Requests for Proposals (RFP).

+ Effectively review Master Services Agreements and resulting Statements of Work (SOW) to ensure that Ryder is protected and receives value.

**Additional Responsibilities**

+ Responsible for overall management of the SDLC and all Technical development and delivery resources and their project assignments.

+ Works closely with Ryder executives understanding their business strategy and serves as their adviser in how IT products can be a competitive advantage within the market place.

+ Creation of business oriented presentations to communicate return on investment on key projects.

+ Partners with Enterprise Infrastructure, Security , Integration Services & Data Services to own and drive application/product related vulnerability remediation.

+ Mentors Technical team and Project managers on the design, delivery and support.

+ Work with and Manage a team in EST.

+ Deliver scheduled milestones on-time to ensure project/program objectives are met.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree required Information Science/Computer Science/Engineering

+ Master's degree preferred MBA or Information Science

+ Ten (10) years or more Minimum of 12 years IT experience with a variety of technologies supporting the full product development life cycle. required

+ Eight (8) years or more Experience as a Director in a large and complex environment. Ideally in a multi-billion dollar organization. required

+ Five (5) years or more Sound experience and proven delivery record of architecting and implementing enterprise-wide solutions using leading On Prem and Cloud based technologies. required

+ Five (5) years or more Practical experience in building business and technical requirements. required

+ Five (5) years or more Experience in managing and implementing Enterprise ERP platforms. preferred

+ Five (5) years or more Experience in managing Enterprise Infrastructure, Security Integration Services & Data Service Program or Practice. preferred

+ Knowledge of Business Systems Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Systems and Infrastructure, Budget and Human Resource Management advanced required

+ Strong expertise with a variety of technologies supporting the full product development life cycle advanced required
