BAE Systems is seeking a Software Engineer with strong software and hardware skills, at least 4-6 years of software design, code, test and hardware integration experience to join our Test and Support Solutions team. This is a hands-on technical role on a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will help mentor a small team of developers in creating, deploying, and sustaining a test/support platform, in addition to hands on design/coding and software/hardware integration and troubleshooting.

The candidate will design, develop, test and document Windows-based applications for various aircraft test and support equipment items. The candidate will contribute to the development of instrument drivers, analysis algorithms, Graphical User Interfaces, and self-test software. The candidate will also interface with Systems and Hardware Engineering and must have a background working with basic electrical hardware design. The candidate will be involved in all phases of software development from requirements definition, design, coding, integration, and test.

The software is developed in C/C and Java using commercial tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Matlab, Java Development Kit (JDK), National Instrument s Lab Windows/CVI, LabView and/or Test Stand.

The ability to travel occasionally domestically and/or internationally is required to perform lab and aircraft testing.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a **hybrid work format** , with time split between working onsite and remotely.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in a computer related field

+ US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

+ Strong software architecture, design, and development experience using C/C or Java

+ Test Equipment Development Tools (i.e., LabView, LabWindows, TestStand)

+ Use of common lab equipment/good background in performing and documenting lab work

+ Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions to assist in software/hardware debug, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components

+ Ability to work in a team environment.

+ Excellent communication and technical writing skills

+ 4-6 years of experience with Automatic Test Equipment, electronics engineering support, including design testing and verification experience.

+ Ability to innovate, evaluate and research new technologies while staying abreast of industry trends

+ Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities

+ The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions

+ Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

+ Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings

+ Excellent team player who is willing to contribute in any capacity

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ Hold an active Secret security clearance

+ Experience in Test Program Set Development

+ Experience with Agile software development

+ Knowledge of the DevSecOps development process

+ Embedded Windows Operating System and Device Drive development

+ Signal measurement techniques and theory

+ Digital Signal processing

+ FPGA Programming

+ C#

+ Graphical User Interface design, including Windows Forms and Java Development Kit programming skills

+ Database design and implementation

+ .NET and COM interface programming

+ Communication bus experience

+ Network programming (including work that involves communicating with Units Under Test via Ethernet buses).
