DS&C Electronic Controls - Technical Specialist

Description

We are looking for a talented Electronic Controls Engineering Specialist to join our team specializing in embedded software controls in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • This product focused position tailors electronic control systems for Cummins products.
  • People in this position will configure (tune), integrate, test, and release software for electronic control units that operate Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications.
  • Collect and document functionality, performance, and interface requirements from various stakeholder groups.
  • Follow component software development from algorithm concept to full build integration based on standard AUTOSAR software development and Cummins internal software development process.
  • Use experience, theoretical and practical knowledge to approach problems and software change requests.
  • Create technical presentations for cross-functional forums to discuss new algorithm concepts, technical issues, and describe on-board diagnostics for product certification.
  • Develop and execute simulation to ensure software component quality through regression and functionality test cases.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
  • Prior Engineering equivalent work experience (4 years minimum) in a relevant discipline area with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making
  • Experience developing and selecting algorithm concepts and designs using MATLAB / Simulink, generating code using real-time workshop, and integrating newly generated code with other components
  • Experience testing software on engine control module Hardware in Loop (HIL), in simulation using Model in Loop (MIL), and/or Software in loop (SIL) using MATLAB test manager
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
