Job Summary

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist - Bucket Truck to join our team in McLean, VA. In this position you will be responsible to inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems, system equipment, transformers, switchgear, and electrical substations throughout the facilities. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and
scheduled repairs; as well as installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done
on electrical utility systems
• Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair utility equipment and electrical
circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments
• Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain, and
lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC electrical equipment, transformers,
switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as
required for maintenance programs based on all information obtained through tests
and preventative maintenance procedures and take corrective action, as required.
• Assist in placing blocking, grounds, locks, etc., on utilities systems, as required by
operational protective procedures.
• Perform protective inspections during facility additions or repairs to insure safe and
continuous operation of electrical equipment, as required.
• Implement, perform, and assist with detailed switching procedures.
• Perform testing of all electric shop installations of #8 wire or larger to include but not
limited to megger testing, proper phasing, proper color-coding and installations meet
the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Operate machines and power tools, erect scaffolds and perform rigging.
• Install conduit, piping, wiring, and apparatus for maintenance of equipment and/or
substitution of existing equipment with new or old apparatus
• Be able to operate and test transfer switches and small generators
• Identify and mark underground utilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical switchgear and electrical circuits.
• Complete ADC's as required.
• Direct other repair personnel as assigned.
• Perform duties equivalent to a Grade 1 Electrician as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with knowledge of Federal, State and Local
traffic laws required or with appropriate waivers.
• Electrical Journeyman License.
• Must be trained and able to perform and function within a confined space.
• Possess a strong background in low voltage switchgear (600 volts or less).
• Through working knowledge of the national and local electrical codes.
• Ability to write as well as comprehend written and oral instructions

• A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and
nights, as well as overtime, call-ins, weekends, and holidays, as required
EXPERIENCE: Eight years' experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or
construction required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master Electrician License.
• NFPA-70E Training.
• OSHA 10 Training
• CPR Training
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
