Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Director 1, Catalina Structure and Mechanisms IPT Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California and will report functionally to the Vehicle and Software Engineering Director and programmatically to Catalina Program Manager .

The Catalina Structures and Mechanism IPT Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the development, manufacturing, assembly, test and flight delivery of the subsystem. Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring technical performance meets specifications
  • Managing and accountable for cost and schedule performance.
  • Adhering to established design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance processes
  • Collaborating with the relevant functional organizations in process tailoring, staffing activities, and employee engagement
  • Developing and championing design and process improvement activities to establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with adjacent IPTs and other stakeholders to ensure overall program objectives are met
  • Interfacing with indirect and business capture actives across the Division to assist in concept definition and product development of next generation of products
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 10 years of experience in Aerospace and/or in IPT Program management with a demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers
  • 5 years of team management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex design efforts and transition designs into production.
  • Demonstrated understanding of flight hardware lifecycle and production.
  • Active TS and/or SCI Clearance and ability to receive program clearance
  • Demonstrated experience as CAM with EVMS responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex supply chains with a mix of procurement and subcontracts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in project or program management, leading people, projects, or programs across diverse technical teams.
  • Effective communication and excellent leadership characteristics
  • Experience in with fast paced structures and mechanism hardware development and flight build
  • Experience with production of complex gimbaled subsystems at rate
  • Experience delivering Class A flight hardware
  • Experience across all phases of program lifecycle
Salary Range: $180,200 USD - $270,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
