Our Senior Manager of Accounting Policy and SOX will play a critical role in developing and maintaining global accounting policies that are consistent and repeatable as well as ensuring our control framework and management assertions are well supported with appropriate, contemporaneous documentation.

Responsibilities

You Will . . .

  • Develop and maintain the company’s accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP and ensure they are complete, accurate, and appropriate to support the business
  • Ensuring the accountants and business understand the policies and how to access these policies
  • Perform technical accounting research related to business transactions and process using GAAP research tools and the FASB codification; document accounting conclusions with relevant support
  • Manage SOX controls framework to ensure that it is complete, accurate and the controls continue to support the business operations in a rational manner
  • Manage the company’s SOX scoping on a global level to support management’s assertions
  • Work closely with auditors and manage auditor request for quarterly reviews and annual
  • Create and perform analytical reviews of external and management results
  • Collaborate closely with peers, managers on process improvements, system and reporting enhancements and analysis of monthly and quarterly results
  • Manage and complete special accounting-related projects as necessary

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
  • 5-9 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting required – Big 4 experience preferred and some corporate experience preferred)

  • CPA license required
  • Accounting Policy and SOX experience at a large multi-entity company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Understanding of an internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational effectiveness
  • Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
  • Ability to function as a positive agent of change, to take charge, and to influence others
  • Communicate with impact
  • Strong service skills, as it relates to internal customers and department managers
  • High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail

 

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Masters or better in Accounting or related field
  • Big 4 experience and some corporate experience preferred
