This position will be in support of NCAA/DoD Concussion Assessment Research and Education Consortium and the Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research: provides professional and comprehensive Social Work Service for human subjects research activities in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, oversees the day-to-day study activities in the execution of the study plan.

Responsibilities

HJF is seeking a Social Worker I who will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the study, supporting the analysis and reporting of findings, and providing mental health support and educational services to active duty service members. This is the lower of two levels within the Social Worker series.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the implementation of the study as a subject matter expert and ensures compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Administers functional assessment in accordance with the research protocol.
  • Ensures accurate documentation, study records, and data management.
  • Assists study coordinator with project administration, including scheduling participants and coordinating with other clinical services.
  • Compiles reports and submits purchase requests for study activities and supplies.
  • Provides mental health support, educational services, and/or other clinical services to active duty service members as requested.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with Mental Health conditions/diagnosis.
  • Experience with human subjects research.
  • Experience assisting with writing manuscripts for publication in professional journals or books, writing scientific grant protocols, or writing and presenting papers at professional meetings and conferences.
  • Experience providing mental health support/services to military service members or veterans.

Physical Capabilities
  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Qualifications

Work Environment
  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience
  • License to practice clinical social work (or eligibility to obtain the same) in Florida required.
