Michael Baker International is seeking a Product Owner to join our Public Safety team to help define and gather requirements for product enhancements, provide leadership and direction to the entire product team for the product backlog and roadmap, and support releases and stakeholder engagement and expectations. This is an opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing industry, and with one of the leading NG9-1-1 GIS solutions and services firms. We are building a technical-minded and collaborative team of people who desire being part of a dynamic unit delivering indoor mapping and public safety solutions.

The Product Owner will serve as our customer proxy responsible for working with all stakeholders (internal and external) to define and prioritize stories for our indoor mapping product and ensure client needs are met and launches are successful. DATAMARK designs and builds cloud-native applications that provide mapping and analysis functions to meet the needs of our clients within the 9-1-1 and Public Safety markets.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain the indoor mapping product roadmap
  • Regularly communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to get feedback on their wants and needs
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues
  • Represent customer interests during the design and development of new products and features
  • Keep customers and stakeholders informed of the status of the product and specific functionalities
  • Provide objective feedback to product manager and software development team
  • Collaborate and build consensus with cross-functional teams to get a holistic understanding of customers' problems
  • Work collaboratively with developers, chief architect, product analysts, and product manager
  • Support and contribute to user acceptance testing strategies for all major releases
  • Perform testing on web mapping tools and functionalities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience working in an agile software development environment
  • 0-3 years of previous product owner experience
  • Expertise with stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and able to successfully plan, prioritize, execute, and track tasks and responsibilities to meet established deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

The salary range for this position is $70,000-106,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
